Manufacturing Process of LDPE Pipe (Single, Dual, Triple Layer)
Our LDPE Pipe Plant is designed to produce single-layer, dual-layer, and triple-layer LDPE pipes using advanced extrusion and co-extrusion technology. The process ensures high-speed production, uniform pipe quality, and minimal material wastage.
Raw Material Feeding & Mixing:-
LDPE granules, color masterbatches, and additives (UV stabilizers, anti-oxidants, etc.) are dosed and fed into the main hopper.
👉 In dual-layer and triple-layer models, separate feeding systems and hoppers supply material to the jockey extruder(s) for outer and/or inner layers. This allows different material grades or colors for each layer, as per customer requirements.
Melting & Main Extrusion:-
The main extruder melts and homogenizes the material for the core pipe.
👉 In multi-layer models, the jockey extruder(s) simultaneously melt and deliver material for the outer or inner layers. All layers are co-extruded in a special die head, ensuring strong adhesion between layers and uniform thickness distribution.
Cooling Unit :-
Pipes are cooled in stainless steel water troughs equipped with high-pressure water sprayers. This step stabilizes dimensions and ensures smooth pipe surfaces without warping.
Haul-off & Cutting / Coiling / Take-Up :-
The pipe is uniformly pulled by a synchronized haul-off unit. It is cut to desired lengths or coiled using a manual or automatic winder, ready for packaging or transport.
Jockey Extruder for Layering (Dual/Three Layer Models) :-
👉 In Dual-layer and triple-layer models, jockey extruders are used alongside the main extruder to apply outer and/or inner layers.
✅ These jockey extruders enable:
• Co-extrusion of different LDPE grades for inner, middle, and outer layers
• Addition of colored or UV-protective outer layers
• Enhanced adhesion between layers for durable, high-performance pipes
• Customization for dual-color or striped pipes as per application
The jockey extruder works in perfect sync with the main extruder to produce seamless, multi-layer pipes with precise wall thickness control.
Control Panel:
The cooled and calibrated pipe is pulled through the extrusion line using a haul-off unit. This unit maintains a consistent tension and speed to avoid any stretching or compression of the pipe. Finally, the pipe is cut to the desired length using an automated cutter. The cut pipes are then collected and inspected for quality before being packaged for distribution.
